16 Mar 3 Tips On How To Manage Yourself And Take Actions
All those who have started their business probably know what it takes to get it off the ground. If you are still in the exciting stage, it may be easier. You are motivated to keep going and you have a big vision. What about if you have been in business over a year and your are not seeing the results you have hoped for? How do you keep going then?
This morning I had an interesting talk with one of my dear clients on this topic. I had noticed that she has not taken the actions we had agreed. Rather than looking at changing the strategy, we explored her thoughts and feelings on a personal level.
When we run our own businesses, in many cases what is really stopping us is us. We tend to blame others, circumstances and other things in our lives. If we can be honest with ourselves, we know that our own personal beliefs and experiences are the key role in our actions.
One interesting fact that we agreed on was that if you were working for somebody else and you were asked to do something outside your comfort zone, you would do it. When you work for yourself, you give yourself the luxury of listening to your feelings, thoughts and advice which prevents you from leaving your comfort zone and achieving the best results.
Here are 3 top tips you can implement right now.
1. Become your own CEO
Act as the CEO, not the owner of your business. In many cases we feel that it is our business and we don’t want it to get it hurt. We decide not take any actions just in case that things go wrong. Be your own CEO. Act as the CEO and create accountability for yourself.
2. Identify role modes, act as one of them.
Identify who are the role models for you. Start asking for advice. Ask yourself what would that person do in your case?
3. Ignore your own voice
If the voice in your head is saying – don’t do it, it won’t work or you are not good enough, just ignore it. It is not you. It is your inner voice. Its main role is to stop you from acting, keeping you safe. If you stay safe, you won’t get hurt. Ignore it and start taking actions. By taking actions, you will create a momentum.
I want to hear from you. How do you manage yourself to take actions and get out of your comfort zone?
